Our granite paving slabs and natural stone paving are imported directly from our parent Westone-owned quarry. This direct supply ensures consistent grading, authentic granite colours and reliable stock availability for landscaping projects across the UK.
Granite is one of the most durable natural stones used in outdoor paving. Its dense structure and natural grain make it suitable for patios, garden pathways, courtyards, seating areas and commercial landscapes, where long-term stability and understated appearance are valued.
Our core colour range includes Silver Grey and Blue Grey (also known as Light Grey or Mid Grey). These remain the most widely used granite colours for UK patios due to their neutral tones and strong weather resistance.
Why Choose Granite Paving for UK Gardens?
Granite paving combines natural appearance with exceptional structural strength. Flamed or textured surfaces provide slip resistance, while sawn edges and calibrated thickness allow accurate installation for both modern and traditional landscape designs.

Considerations for Light-Coloured and Machine-Cut Paving Stones
How to Lay Granite Paving Slabs
Granite paving performs best when installed on a full mortar bed over a properly prepared sub-base. Prepare a compacted Type 1 foundation with suitable falls for drainage, apply an SBR slurry primer to the slab underside and finish with an exterior jointing compound. Granite Paving – Frequently Asked Questions
What are the advantages of granite paving?
Granite paving is one of the most durable natural stone materials used for outdoor landscaping. Its dense structure provides excellent strength, weather resistance and long-term performance, making it suitable for patios, garden paths and terraces throughout the UK.
Is granite paving suitable for UK weather conditions?
Yes. Granite paving performs very well in the UK climate. It is highly resistant to frost, rain and temperature changes, making it a reliable material for long-term outdoor paving projects.
Is granite paving slippery when wet?
Most outdoor granite paving slabs are produced with a flamed or textured surface finish. This treatment improves slip resistance and provides better grip compared with polished stone surfaces.
What thickness of granite paving should I choose?
For most patios and garden pathways, 20 mm granite paving slabs are commonly used. For driveways or areas with heavier loads, thicker granite such as 40 mm or 50 mm is generally recommended.
What is the difference between Silver Grey and Blue Grey granite?
Silver Grey granite typically features a lighter neutral grey tone, while Blue Grey granite has slightly darker and cooler colour variations. Both offer similar durability and performance.
Does granite paving require sealing?
Granite paving does not always require sealing because of its naturally dense structure. However, applying a suitable stone sealer can help reduce staining and make maintenance easier in high-traffic outdoor areas.
